     Title: Clown Ministry

"To be in the presence of a clown is to be allowed a glimpse of life through the twinkling eyes of a child."

This quote truly captures the essence of clowning. Through the antics and buffoonery of clowns we are briefly afforded passage to a magical land where daily cares and aggravations can be left behind, where people young and old can recapture that spark of joy which is their God-given inheritance. It is in this way that clowning earns the title “Ministry”.

In the Clown Ministry program one learns the art of theatrical makeup, how to walk, talk and think like a clown. They learn skits and how to turn a balloon into a dog or a flower. But most of all they learn to share that spark of joy placed in each of us by God with those around them in nursing homes, schools, parish and community activities.
