The Ministry to the Sick is a ministry of the heart. It is a ministry of the presence of Jesus Christ, the great healer and comforter. This is made possible by the love and caring of dedicated Ministers to the Sick, who go out from the Church to provide compassion, prayer and the Eucharist to those who are in hospitals, nursing homes, or home-bound due to advanced age or illness. Those needing this assistance, please contact the Pastoral Care office at 352-728-5652.

Volunteers are needed to serve in the Ministry to the Sick. If you feel the Lord is calling you to serve and you would like to find out more about the Ministry to the Sick, please contact Beverly Smith at 352-728-5652.

The Ministry to the Sick Office also office sponsors the Anointing Masses celebrated each spring and fall and organizes anointing visits to the area Nursing Home/Rehabilitation Centers twice a year.

Additionally, the Ministry to the Sick Office brings in Life Line Screening in February of each year. Life Line Screening is a non-invasive procedure which determines the build-up of fatty plaques in the carotid arteries. Excessive build-up blood flow abnormalities that can lead to a stroke.  Other related tests are also available to accompany this preventative medicine.
